Obo joined Welligence in October 2020 and is currently part of Welligence’s Energy Trends Analysis team. He is responsible for delivering thought leadership reports covering global investment/M&A trends and strategies of the E&Ps. He also leads in delivering reports covering the global FLNG and FPSO markets. Before joining the Energy Trends team, he worked for three years with Welligence’s Sub-Saharan Africa team, leading the team’s coverage of key oil-producing countries.
Obo also leads in the execution and delivery of bespoke consulting projects for clients ranging from IOCs, financial institutions and service companies.
Prior to this role, he spent 12 years with Wood Mackenzie as an Africa-focused analyst and latterly as a corporate analyst. Obo had previously worked for two years with the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. He has written widely on issues relating to gas monetization in West Africa, the outlook for the offshore facilities market and benchmarking fiscal terms in West Africa. Obo holds a master’s degree in Oil and Gas Economics from the University of Dundee Scotland and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos, Nigeria.
