Stephen Rounce has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and almost three decades of experience in the offshore industry. The initial 22 years included working in Oilfield Services – offshore as a Wireline Logging Field Engineer on a variety of North Sea platforms, jack-ups and MODUs, and onshore in account management, sales, and business development. Subsequently, he worked in business development for offshore Geophysical and Geotechnical survey, providing vessel based, towed and ROV/AUV services for clients in Offshore Wind, Subsea Cable and Pipeline projects, and for inspecting existing subsea assets.

Stephen joined the Custom Projects Team at Sonardyne International Limited in 2025. Sonardyne, part of the Covelya Group, have for over 50 years designed and manufactured specialist equipment used globally by the Energy, Ocean Science and Defence industries to navigate, position, sense, monitor and wirelessly communicate underwater.
